Company news

140% of our code
is written by AI.

AlmostRight today reported that 140% of its code is now written by AI, up from 100% last quarter.

The figure divides the lines the agent generated by the lines in production. The agent chose the method. It was the first one it tried.

The remaining 40% was written, deleted by an engineer, and written again. Most of it is a compatibility layer the team removed in August for reasons discussed in a meeting. The agent has restored it four times.

“We don’t measure what the code is for. That would bring the number down.”

Human contribution to the codebase is now negative. Engineers spend most of the week removing things. Leadership describes this as code review.

AlmostRight expects to reach 200% by year end. It has not decided what the additional code will do. Neither has the agent.

The company does not report what share of its code was written by someone who knew why it needed to exist. That metric is under review.
